Acupuncture for Dogs and Cats
in Norman, OK
Gentle care that goes more than skin deep.

Some pets chase tennis balls. Others chase squirrels in their sleep. Either way, we want them feeling their best—whether they’re zooming across the yard or curled up on the couch like a cinnamon roll.

At McGee Street Animal Hospital, we offer veterinary acupuncture as a gentle, drug-free way to help pets manage pain, recover from injuries, and improve their quality of life. It’s not about needles, it’s about comfort, healing, and giving your pet every chance to thrive.

Meet Your Certified Acupuncture Veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Devine

Dr. Jennifer Devine earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 2015 and has since built a career centered on helping pets live more comfortable, active lives. Originally drawn to veterinary medicine through the inspiring rescue work of her aunt, Dr. Devine began her career in dairy medicine before an injury shifted her focus to rehabilitation. She is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and Certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist, with a strong passion for pain management and preventive care. At home, she and her husband stay busy raising their two energetic sons, Nathan and Paxton, who are active in multiple sports. Their family also includes Bosworth, an eight-year-old Weimaraner and long-time blood donor. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Devine enjoys attending sporting events—especially cheering for the Oklahoma Sooners—traveling, photography, and sharing her knowledge through nationwide lectures on pain management.

How Dogs and Cats Can Benefit from Acupuncture

Acupuncture isn’t just for people. Many pets benefit from this gentle, time-tested therapy. It can help improve circulation, support nerve function, and ease pain or tension. During each session, we place tiny, sterile needles at specific points on your pet’s body to activate their natural healing process. Most pets find it surprisingly relaxing.

Conditions Acupuncture Can Help Manage

We often recommend acupuncture as part of a well-rounded care plan for pets facing:

  • Arthritis and joint pain

  • Disc problems or spinal issues

  • Back leg weakness

  • Allergies and skin sensitivities

  • Digestive issues like diarrhea or constipation

  • Liver conditions

  • Neurological concerns, including seizures

What an Acupuncture Session Looks Like

No two pets are exactly alike, so their treatment plans won’t be, either. We’ll tailor each visit to fit your pet’s needs and keep you informed every step of the way. Some pets may respond quickly, while others may need a few sessions to see lasting results. A typical session lasts around 30 minutes. Our team is always happy to discuss your pet’s treatment options, so we can ensure they’re receiving the best possible care. Call us today at (405) 329-0181 or request an appointment online.
