Pets age much faster than humans, so it follows that disease and illness progress faster in our animal companions as well. Animals also instinctually hide signs of illness or injury because their ancestors in the wild were either healthy…or they were lunch. That makes it hard for us to know when our pets aren’t feeling well just from observation, which is another reason why regular exams are so important.
